NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series has been interesting to say the least. NVIDIA launched at the high-end with their RTX 4090 and while it was a pretty large leap in performance it was also quite a large leap in price. We’ve been wondering what is going to be the RTX 40 series graphics card that is going to be digestible for most gamers and consumers? Well today we might just have that card, it is the RTX 4070. Set at a more modest price of $599 this card is based on the 4nm AD104 silicon with 5888 CUDA cores, 184 TMUs, and 64 ROPs. You are also going to get 12GB of GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit memory interface. The really nice thing about this card is that at launch we are actually going to see many MSRP models. So today we are checking out the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X!
Special thanks to MSI for providing us with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X Graphics Card to review.
RTX 4070 Details
Here is a quick run-down of the RTX 4070 as compared to the previous RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti.
Packaging
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X comes in a pretty simple retail box. On the front we have a picture of the card and it does let us know we do have the Ventux 3X version. Flipping the box over to the back some of the main features are detailed and there is a list of specifications.
Opening the box up we find the card inside nicely protected. Getting everything out all you’ll find is the card itself and a quick user’s guide.
