ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7800 XT OC Edition Overview

If you’ve seen an ASUS TUF graphics card you should recognize this card as it has the same type of design language. The big thing that stands out is the dark grey shroud that surrounds this card. Unlike many other graphics cards out there, the shroud here is made of aluminum. If you are wondering about the size of the card the official dimensions are 319.8 x 150.9 x 59.2 mm.

Talking about the three cooling fans, they are ASUS’s dual-ball bearing axial-tech fans which push 24% more air through the card than traditional designs. The center fan has the ASUS logo on it, while the other two have the TUF Gaming logo.

Looking at the card from the side we can see it is decently thick, it is officially a 2.96-slot card. From the side we can see the large heatsink stack, which is made of up two distinct heatsinks connected by multiple heatpipes. On the main side of the card we can see a large Radeon logo in the center. On this side of the card you’ll also find your power connections, which are two 8-pin PCI-Express connectors. So no need for any type of adapters. These connectors sit back in the card and there is a pretty large cut-out in the backplate so they are easy to access. At the end of the card there is a smaller TUF Gaming logo and little strip. These will light up with RGB lighting when you power the card on.

Flipping the card over we can get a look at the full-cover metal backplate, which is of course metal. There is a cut-out at the end for pass-through cooling as the PCB does not extend to the actual end of the card itself. There is also a small cut-out on the backside of the card that reveals a toggle switch to go between performance mode and quiet mode. The only real difference here is a more relaxed fan curve.

Looking at the end of the card we can see our display connections which include a single HDMI 2.1a and three DisplayPort 2.1. This view also gives you a good idea of how thick the card is.
