We’ve been very impressed with Lexar’s M.2 solid state drive offerings over the past couple of years. One of their latest drives is the NM790 which is a PCI-Express 4.0 x 4 drive that offers sequential read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 6500 MB/s. This drive makes use of the Maxio Tech MAP1602-C controller teamed with 232-Layer TLC NAND from YMTC. This is the same setup that the Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite had, and we absolutely loved that drive so we are excited to see what the NM790 can do! Read on as we take a look!
Special thanks to Lexar for providing us with the NM790 Gen4 Solid State Drive to review.

The NM790 comes in a standard retail box that you would see at the store. On the front it lets us know the speed as well as the capacity. We have the 2TB version, but you can get this drive in 512GB, 1TB, and 4TB versions as well.
Flipping over to the back there is just some more information on the drive itself.
