GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 EX Gamer Graphics Card Overview
Taking a first look at the GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 EX Gamer you can see that we have the white version. If white is not your thing there is a black version available as well. Unlike their Hall of Fame cards you won’t find a white PCB though.
On the main side of the card we have a nice white shroud that surrounds three cooling fans. These cooling fans have clear blades as they’ll light up with RGB lighting when you power your system on. In the center we have a larger 102mm fan, while the two outer fans are 92mm. All three fans will stop when your system is in an idle state for quiet operation.
Looking at the card from the side we can see that under the shroud are two large heatsink stacks that are connected by heatpipes. On the main side of the card you will find a GeForce RTX logo, this will also light up when you turn your system on.
Also on the side of the card you will for your power connector, which is a single 8-pin PCI-Express power connector. With all of the issues we’ve seen with the 12VHPWR connector and cables it is nice to see GALAX use the classic connector here, plus its likely cheaper to implement. The connector sort of sits back in the card, which will help with this card fitting in cases that are a bit more narrow.
Flipping the card over we have a full-cover metal backplate. It has a cut-out in the end for air to pass-through the card and we can also see that distinct cut-out for the 8-pin PCI-Express power connector. There is also a small cut-out in the center of the card that allows you to measure voltages on the card.
When it comes to connections we have the standard three DisplayPort 1.4a and a single HDMI 2.1a. We can also see that the card is slotted for 2-slot, but the shroud is slightly larger than that so keep that in mind.
