Last month we took a look at our first AMD-based graphics card in a while in the Radeon RX 7900 GRE and now we are back with a review of the Radeon RX 7800 XT. The Radeon RX 7800 XT is based on AMD’s Navi 32 silicon and completely maxes out the chip enabling all 60 RDNA 3 compute units. This will give you 3840 stream processors, 120 AI accelerators, 60 ray accelerators, 240 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. The card will also feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit memory bus, giving you 624 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The specific card we have in today is the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7800 XT OC Edition. This card features a factory overclock, the ASUS TUF cooling design that features a metal shroud and 3 cooling fans, a full-coverage metal backplate, and just a hint of RGB lighting. Is this the RX 7800 XT to get? Read on as we find out!
Special thanks to ASUS for providing us with the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7800 XT OC Edition Graphics Card to review.
ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7800 XT OC Edition Packaging
The TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7800 XT OC Edition comes in a pretty standard graphics card box. It does let us know that this card is the OC Edition (even though there is not a non-OC edition) and that it works with ASUS’s GPU Tweak and AURA Sync software.
Flipping over to the back some of the main features of the card are detailed, we have a run-down of the display connections, and information on the RDNA 3 architecture.
Getting everything out of the box we have the graphics card itself, a GPU support / holder, a TUF Gaming cable tie, thank you card, quick start guide, and a TUF Gaming certificate of reliability.
