When it comes to M.2 NVMe solid state drives ones that don’t features a cache chip or as we call them DRAMless are typically more entry level drives that give you adequate performance. We’ve reviewed a handful of these Gen4 or PCIe 4.0 x4 drives and they’ve been good, but Patriot’s latest wants to separate itself from the pack. The Viper VP4300 Lite makes use of the Maxio Tech MAP1602-C controller and 232-Layer TLC NAND. This combination allows the drive to have speeds of up to 7400 MB/s read and 6400 MB/s write. With those type of speeds this drive is not only ideal for PC use, but can be used in a PlayStation 5 as well. Read on as we take a look!
Special thanks to Patriot for providing us with the Viper VP4300 Lite Gen4 Solid State Drive to review.

Patriot packages the Viper VP4300 Lite in the standard sort of blister pack. The front allows you to see the drive and also lets us know the capacity, which in our case is 2TB. Patriot does offer the drive in 500GB, 1TB, and 4TB versions as well.
Flipping over to the back some of the main features of the drive are listed and there is a QR code that when scanned will give you more information on the drive and warranty.
