Corsair RM750x Overview
The first thing you’ll notice about the RM705x is that it is fully modular, as all of the RMx series power supplies are. This is great as you only use the cables that you need. Corsair has gone with an all black design, which is typical for them. The official dimensions of the unit are 180 mm x 150 mm x 86 mm (LxWxH).
The top of the unit is pretty basic, it has a sticker on it that has the input and output graph on it.
The front of the unit is where you are going to find all of your modular connections. These connections are labeled so you know where to plug in the modular cables.
On each side of the unit you will find RM750x logos. This way if you have a case window that shows your power supply everyone can know that you are rocking a RMx series unit.
Moving around to the back of the unit it has a honeycomb design to help with airflow. Of course you have your power connection and a power button on the back.
On the bottom of the unit is a 135 mm rifle bearing fan, covered by a fan grill of course. The RMx series power supplies use a custom NR135L fan that is designed for high static pressure in order to efficiently push air through the PSU components. The rifled fan bearing also provides a longer life quieter operation than most ball-bearing fans. The fan also has a Zero RPM mode, which means when the power supply is at a low-load or idle state the fan will not even spin up!
Below is an overview shot of the inside of the unit with all of the components labeled. As I mentioned earlier in this review the RMx series units use high-quality components included 100% Japanese 105C capacitors. Also the components on the PCB are laid out so less airflow is required to provide sufficient cooling than a conventional PSU layout.
As far as the included modules cables go Corsair has gone with a flat cable design for most of the cables except the 24-pin ATX, 8-pin EPS and PCIe cables, which are simply sleeved. As far as connections go you have 1x 24-pin ATX, 1x 8-pin EPS, 4x 8-pin (6+2) PCIe, 9x SATA, 8x Molex, and 1x floppy.
