Lexar has really impressed with some of their recent storage products and today we are back with their brand new NM800 Pro M.2 solid state drive! Powered by the Innogrit Ranier NVMe 8-channel controller and 176-layer TLC NAND, the NM800 Pro boasts sequential read and write speeds of 7500 MB/s and 6300 MB/s respectively. Lexar will be offering this drive in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB versions and the option to buy the drive with or without a heatsink. So if you plan to install this drive on your motherboard with its built-in heatsinks you can save a few bucks and if you are going to be installing in a PlayStation 5 Lexar has got you covered with the heatsink. Let’s get this drive installed and see what it can do!
Special thanks to Lexar for providing us with the NM800 Pro NVMe Solid State Drive to review.
Specifications
Packaging
The NM800 Pro comes in a nice retail box that has a picture of the drive on the front as well as listing the speed and capacity. We received the 1TB versions of the drive, but as I mentioned the drive is also available in 512GB and 2TB versions.
Flipping the box over some of the main features are detailed.
Opening the box and getting everything out we find our drive nicely protected in a plastic clamshell and you’ll also find a small mounting screw and a quick start guide.
