A couple of years ago Gigabyte entered the memory market with their AORUS gaming brand. Simply called “AORUS RGB Memory” these kits were a bit different from others as they offered “dummy” sticks so you could have all of your slots populated. So if you bought a 16GB kit you would get two 8GB sticks and two “dummy” sticks that would still have RGB lights on them. Two years later Gigabyte we are basically on generation 2 of the AORUS RGB memory and while so kits still come with the dummy sticks Gigabyte has changed the design and really upped the available speeds. Today we will be taking a look at the GP-ARS16G48 kit which is a 16GB kit running at an impressive 4800 MHz with timings of 19-26-26-46 at 1.5V. No dummy sticks with this kit, but the new design is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. Let’s jump in and see what this memory is all about!
Special thanks to Gigabyte for providing us with the AORUS DDR4-4800 RGB 16GB Memory Kit to review.

Packaging
The AORUS RGB Memory comes in a nice retail box with a picture of the kit on the front. It also lets us know the speed and the capacity of the memory as well.
Flipping over to the back there is another picture of the memory and we have some specifications listed in a few different languages.
Opening the box up all you’ll find is the memory inside a clamshell package.
