Installation & Testing
Getting your M.2 2230 drive installed in the Dockcase is quite easy. Once you’ve opened it you can slot in your drive and secure it with the included screw.
When you plug the drive in to your PC you’ll notice that the screen comes on. By default it is going to show you the temperature of the drive inside, the drive state, what drive and the capacity of the drive, the drive’s health, and your current speeds.
When you are transferring files to and from the Dockcase it will show a larger screen with your read and write stats. Using the button on the side of the drive you can see more in-depth information on the SSD you have installed, see information on the dockcase itself and change settings, and even see a live system monitor that will show you a temperature and voltage graph.
When it comes to testing the dockcase your speeds are going to depend on the drive you’ve installed and the type of USB port you connect it to. But in most cases you’ll be able to get up to 1000 MB/s read and write speeds. Here are some speed tests we ran.
