When HyperX’s Cloud gaming headset hit the scene many years ago it sure enough became my favorite headset and was my daily driver for a very long time. Then of course we had the Cloud II and many other integrations of the Cloud. At this point the HyperX Cloud is pretty iconic, so when I heard that a HyperX Cloud III was coming I was pretty excited! This new headset has the same look and feel of the previous Cloud headsets, which is not a bad thing if you’ve ever used one of these headsets before. Beyond that you have 53mm drivers, a detachable noise-cancelling microphone, and the ability to used with a multitude of different devices beyond just your PC. Let’s jump in and see what this headset is all about.

Packaging
The Cloud III comes in a pretty standard retail package from HyperX. On the front we have a picture of the headset, some of the main features are listed, and it does list some of the different devices you can use it with. Flipping over to the back the features are listed in a handful of different languages and it shows you what devices you can use with the USB connection and the 3.5mm connection.
Opening the box up and getting everything out you’ll find the Cloud III gaming headset, a 3.5mm to USB adapter cable (4.26 ft), the detachable microphone, and a quick start guide. The 3.5mm to USB adapter cable is nicely braided, much like the actual 3.5mm cable on headset. The USB connection on the end is a Type-C, but it comes with a Type-A adapter as well.
