The whole “gaming router” thing is not new. Many brands have had gaming routers for a while now, but these are brands mainly known for routers, not gaming. Not to long ago ASUS entered the enthusiast gaming router market with their Republic of Gamers (ROG) line and I’ve actually been using their ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 for the past two years. MSI is will now be entering this market with their first enthusiast gaming router, the RadiX AXE6600. MSI actually gave us a preview of the router back in January, but the RadiX AXE6600 is a WiFi 6E router with 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, 1200 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 4800 Mbps on the 6 GHz band. It is also set to have Ai QoS modes which will intelligently read your network traffic and prioritize traffic for certain situations like gaming, streaming, and even work from home. No gaming router is complete without RGB lighting, which you’ll get with the RadiX AXE6600 as well as a pretty aggressive design. Let’s jump in and see what this router is all about!
Special thanks to MSI for providing us with the RadiX AXE6600 WiFi 6E Tri-Band Gaming Router to review.
