Outback 100 Overview
The thing that really sets the Outback 100 apart from other Lowepro bags we have reviewed in the past is that it is actually modular, having 1 main bag and 2 lens pouches connected on each side. I think that Lowepro has done this to save space and if u are only carrying one lens you are able to remove the unneeded lens pouch, which means less for you to carry. On the backside of the Outback 100 is a large strap that will attach around your waist.
On the main compartment there are large “U” shaped zipper pulls that make it easy to open it up. Once inside the first thing I noticed were the 2 memory card holder spots. This is great, especially if you need to switch out memory cards real quick. The Inside compartment is quite large and should fit your D-SLR with lens attached. There is a Velcro insert inside that allows you to change the depth of the compartment depending on how large your camera is.
The 2 lens pouches should fit most traditional lenses out there. They also have the “U” zipper pulls, but they are not reinforced like the ones on the main compartment. They provide the same protection as the main compartment, just not as thick. The pouches are attached to the main compartment with SlipLock loops and are secured with sturdy, yet lightweight compression straps.
So essentially with the main compartment you are able to connect any of Lowepro’s SlipLock cases to it. Some of their cases include larger lens pouches, accessory pouches, and even a water bottle pouch!
