AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series processors have launched recently and that means we have a whole slew of new AMD motherboards. For the new chipsets we have X870E and X870. The real difference between these two is that X870E features two Promontory 21 chips which are going to give you more PCIe lanes. This is what makes X870E-based motherboards more expensive than X870. Honestly for most people an X870 motherboard will be more than enough and they can take that savings and put it towards a better graphics card or faster storage. Gigabyte X870 AORUS Elite WiFi7 Motherboard Packaging
The X870 AORUS Elite WiFi7 comes in the standard Gigabyte motherboard box. On the front we have the AORUS logo and it lets us know the board features the AM5 socket.
Flipping the box over to the back some of the main features are detailed, we have a full list of specifications, as well as a run-down of our rear I/O ports.
As far as accessories go you have the WiFi 7 antenna, a set of SATA cables, G-connector, an AORUS case badge, and your user’s guides. G-connector. The G-connector allows you to plug in all of your front panel cables to it, and then easily plug it into the front panel headers on your motherboard.
