With AMD’s Ryzen 9000 Series announcement at Computex we expected to see some X870E/X870 motherboards at the show. Well ASRock was displaying pretty much their entire line of X870E/X870 motherboards built for these new processors. These boards come from product lines that we know and some new ones like Taichi, Taichi Lite, Nova WIFI, Riptide, Steel Legend & PRO RS.
ASRock X870E Taichi
At the top of the product stack we have the ASRock X870E Taichi. This board features a 27-phase power design (110A SPS), which means that it is definitely ready for overclocking. There are two main PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slots and three Hyper M.2 slots which are also PCIe 5.0 x4. On the rear I/O you are going to find two USB4 Type-C ports, 5G LAN, and antennas for Wi-Fi 7. For audio you have the Realtek ALC4082 codec and ESS SABRE9218 DAC supporting high-fidelity sound. The top PCIe slot and memory slots are metal reinforced. The board has the clockwork design language that we know from the Taichi line and it looks like you’ll get RGB lighting on the rear I/O cover and below the heatsinks towards the bottom of the board.
ASRock X870E Taichi LITE
For those who want to save a little bit of money there is the ASRock X870E Taichi LITE. This is a more streamlined version of the X870E Taichi that offers pretty much the same feature-set, but lacks the RGB lighting and accented heatsinks.
ASRock X870E NOVA WIFI
Sitting at the top of ASRock’s Phantom Gaming lineup will be their X870E NOVA WIFI. This board have a 23-phase power design (110A SPS), a single PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, five M.2 slots (1x Gen5, 3x Gen4, 1x Gen3), four DDR5 DIMM slots, two USB4 Type-C ports, 5G LAN, WiFi 7, as well as the Realtek ALC4082 audio codec.
ASRock X870 Riptide WIFI
The ASRock X870 Riptide WIFI seems to be a cut-down version of the NOVA board. It will only have a 17-phase power design (80A Dr.MOS), a single PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, three M.2 slots (1x Gen 5, 2x Gen4), two USB4 Type-C ports, four DDR5 DIMM slots 2.5G LAN, WiFi 7, and the Realtek ALC4082 audio codec.
ASRock X870 Steel Legend
For their mainstream offering ASRock will have their X870 Steel Legend. This board will have a white colorway, with a white PCB! Its feature-set includes a 17-phase power design (80A Dr.MOS), a single PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, three M.2 slots (1x Gen 5, 2x Gen4), two USB4 Type-C ports, four DDR5 DIMM slots 2.5G LAN, WiFi 7, and the Realtek ALC4082 audio codec.
ASRock X870 PRO RS WIFI
The last board we have is the X870 PRO RS WIFI, which also has a white colorway with a white PCB that has a sort of grey design on it. It features a 17-phase power design (80A Dr.MOS), a single PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, three M.2 slots (1x Gen 5, 1x Gen4, 1x Gen3), two USB4 Type-C ports, four DDR5 DIMM slots 2.5G LAN, and WiFi 7.
