Noctua originally introduced their iconic NH-D15 back in 2014. Since then it has been the standard for high-end air coolers and has always been in the top of our test group for air coolers. Over the years we’ve wondered when Noctua would come out with a successor, well after 10 years Noctua has introduced the NH-D15 G2! Like the original, the Noctua NH-D15 G2 is a massive dual-tower, dual-fan air cooler. This time they have outfitted the cooler with two NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, eight nickel-plated copper heatpipes, as well as asymmetrical fin-stacks that have been carefully fine-tuned to work in tandem with the new fans. Is this the new king of air coolers? Read on as we find out!

The NH-D15 G2 comes in a very nice retail box. On the front we have a full-color picture of the cooler. There are actually three different variants of this cooler. We have the normal G2, but there is also a HBC (High Base Convexity) variant is specifically optimized for LGA1700 processors, and a LBC (Low Base Convexity) variant is specifically optimized for relatively flat CPUs like AM5, AM4, LGA2066, and LGA2011.
Every side of the retail box is loaded with information so if you are at the store you really get a clear picture of what this cooler is all about.
Inside the box you are of course going to find the cooler itself, but as far as accessories go you are going to get the new NM-SD1 Torx T20 screwdriver, 2x NA-RC16 Low-Noise Adaptors, NA-YC1 4-pin PWM splitter cable, NT-H2 high-grade thermal compound, all of your mounting hardware for both AMD and Intel systems, NA-CW1 cleaning wipe, NA-TPG1 thermal paste guard for AM5, and a Noctua metal case badge.
