Final Thoughts on the AOC 16T3EA
While the AOC 16T3EA is not the best portable monitor I’ve seen, I think it was designed for people on the go who just need an extra screen to be productive and don’t want to mess with weird stands or a bunch of cables. In that regard it for sure delivers!
This monitor isn’t really all that big or heavy so it is going to be easy to take with you. On top of that AOC does provide a nice sleeve that will fit right in your laptop bag with your laptop. All you need is a single cable to get the monitor up and running and with the single connection there is no way you can mess up the setup. The two stands are built into the laptop and easily pop up and it is quite nice there is even a stand for portrait mode for all of those coders or discord lurkers out there.
The 1080p screen is going to be just fine for web browsing as well as office and productivity work. You can also do some gaming and watching content, but this is only a 60 Hz display and the colors and brightness are nothing much to write home about. But then again if you just need to be a bit more productive with a second display, this gets the job done.
While having the single USB cable connection makes setup super-easy it does limit the display a bit. First, not having a mini-HDMI limits the devices you can really use with the display, so no consoles here. And second, not having a secondary USB means that you can’t give this display extra power through that port, which could have helped a bit with brightness.
AOC has priced this display right at $109.99 at our favorite online retailer, so it for sure is not going to break the bank and unlike a lot of portable monitors it does come with the travel case. Overall ThinkComputers gives the AOC 16T3E portable monitor an 8 out of 10 score.
