Usage & Testing on the ROG Delta II
I’ve been using the ROG Delta II as my daily driver for the past few weeks and I’ve really enjoyed it.
Comfort
Let’s first talk about the most important thing, comfort. You aren’t going to use an amazing sounding gaming headset if it is not comfortable. I am happy to report that the ROG Delta II is quite comfortable, I think a lot of that has to do with how light the headset is. I’ve reviewed too many headsets that were just heavy and even if they had a ton of cushioning on the headband it was not enough and my head or ears would start to hurt. I did not have any of those issues here with the ROG Delta II and that is after multiple long sessions of Apex Legends and Helldivers 2.
Audio Quality
When it comes to audio quality I was equally as impressed. I am a person that likes deep bass and this headset delivers on that front. I would definitely make use of the Armoury Crate software to really tune the sound to your liking as out of the box things might sound a bit flat. When it came to in-game sounds I mainly used the “FPS” setting in Armoury Crate with virtual surround sound turned on. This allowed me to easily identify enemies from a distance, which was really apparent in Apex Legends. While the virtual surround sound was good, it was definitely not the best that I’ve experienced.
The Microphone
The microphone on the headset is one of the best I’ve used on a wireless gaming headset. Typically when it comes to wireless headsets the audio sounds compressed and not all that great, especially if you are streaming. Below we have an two recordings using the headset, the first is out of the box with no changes made and the second is with Perfect Voice turned on to 50% in the Armoury Crate software.

DualFlow Audio
The DualFlow Audio as ASUS calls it allows you to connect to two different audio sources at the same time. So in my use case I connected via 2.4 GHz to my PC and Bluetooth to my phone. You can easily adjust the volume of each using the controls on the headset. This is excellent as you can take a call when you are gaming and not have to take the headset off. You can also listen to music or something else while you are in your game. The headset alerts you when you have a call coming in and you can answer it by just pressing the headset.
Wireless Connectivity
Since this is a wireless gaming headset we definitely want to make sure we have a good connection, the worst thing would be the headset cutting out when we you are in an intense game. ASUS makes use of their ROG SpeedNova wireless technology that optimizes the 2.4 GHz band and provides an ultra-low latency connection. I did not run into any issues when it came to connectivity or latency.
Battery Life
Finally we come to battery life. ASUS claims this headset has 110 hours of battery life with the RGB lighting off and 24 hours with it on in 2.4 GHz mode. Now while I always take these numbers with a grain of salt I didn’t really have to charge the headset in my time testing it. On top of that it does support fast charging, so if you plug it in for 15-minutes it will give you up to 11 hours of listening time. This is great for those times when you forget to charge your headset. Also you don’t have to worry if you forget to turn the headset off as it will go into sleep mode by default.
