When we were first introduced to Noctua many years ago they were known for their massive CPU coolers. These were some of the best air-based CPU coolers available at the time and still are. Recently we have seen smaller designs from Noctua that take into consideration smaller systems and RAM clearance. Well Noctua is going back to their roots with the new NH-D15 CPU cooler. This massive CPU cooler is based on the award winning NH-D14 and features a dual-tower design with 6 copper heatpipes, two Noctua NF-A15 140 mm fans and Noctua’s SecuFirm2 mounting system for easy installation. Will this be the new ultimate air cooler? Read on as we find out!
Special thanks to Noctua for providing us with the NH-D15 CPU Cooler to review.
Packaging
The NH-D15 comes in Noctua’s typical retail packaging. The box is quite large so you can expect the cooler to be pretty big as well. On the front is a list of some of the main features of the cooler.
On the back of the box Noctua goes into detail on these features.
Opening the box up and getting everything out we have the NH-D15 cooler with a single fan attached, a second NH-A15 140 mm fan, mounting hardware for both Intel and AMD systems, NT-H1 thermal compound, low noise adapters, Y-cable for the fans, rubber fan mounts, fan screws, fan clips and a Noctua case badge.
