Final Thoughts on the Crucial P310
It does not seem like the popularity of gaming handhelds is going anywhere. We just saw Antec of all people announce their Core HS gaming handheld this past week! As I mentioned these gaming handhelds are great, but when it comes to storage they do lack a little bit. One in terms of capacity, but also in terms of speed. This is of course where the Crucial P310 comes in!
Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities which could essentially double your gaming handhelds overall storage, the Crucial P310 is also no slouch either when it comes to speed. Rated for speeds of up to 7100 MB/s read and 6100 MB/s write this tiny little drive not only is one of the best performing M.2 2230 drives we’ve tested, but it also competes with full-size drives as well. In our testing we saw speeds of 7016.65 MB/s read and 6020.02 MB/s write in CrystalDiskMark, which of course is right up to the rated speeds!
This speedy little drive is going to get the perfect upgrade not only for your gaming handheld, but any other device that will take a Gen4 M.2 2230 drive. Right now the 2TB version that we took a look at today is selling for $204.99, which I feel is a fair price for what you are getting. If anything I would really like to see a 4TB version. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Crucial P310 Gen4 Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!

– Very fast
– Backed up with a 5-year warranty
