Fractal Design Mood Case Overview
As I mentioned we received the Black version of the Mood, but it will also be available in Light Grey. The black version is actually more of a dark grey to me, at least the mesh part. The top and bottom accents of the case are black though. As far as size goes the official dimensions of the case are 212mm x 212mm x 453mm (LxWxH), with a volume of 20.4L, and it weighs in at just over 10 lbs without any hardware installed. The shape of the case is more or less a large rectangle, much like the Xbox Series X console.
The thing that really makes the Mood interesting is that Fractal Design has wrapped it in a textured double-layered fabric. This is why I compared it to a speaker because many home speakers are designed just like this. The fabric is not necessarily thick so it should allow for the case to breathe.
On the front of the case towards the bottom you’ll find a small Fractal Design logo as well as your connections and buttons. There is a combination headphone / microphone jack, USB 3.2 gen 2×2 Type-C port, large power button, and two USB 3.0 ports.
The back of the case is the only “side” that does not have the the fabric on it. Instead you have a normal panel with large ventilation holes on it and a larger Fractal Design logo towards the bottom.
The top of the case is all ventilated. That is because of the large 180mm fan mounted at the top of the case. We’ll get a better look at it once we get inside.
Flipping the case over and taking a look at the bottom we have four large rubber feet. We can also see this is where our connections for our motherboard and graphics card will be, so all of your cables will route out from the bottom of the case.
