Setup & Usage
Getting the Vimo S MI setup and ready to use couldn’t be easier. Just make sure you have the microphones charged, plug in the receiver to the Lightning connection on the bottom of your iPhone or iPad, take out the microphones and you are good to go. As soon as you remove the microphone’s from the charging case they will pair with the receiver as long as it is plugged in. The corresponding LEDs on the receiver and microphones will flash when they are not connected and be a solid blue when they are.
I really like that the microphone’s pair as soon as you remove them from the case. This really makes run-and-gun shooting much easier as you are not waiting to pair microphones and you don’t end up forgetting to pair a microphone.
You can easily switch between normal and denoise modes using the button on the side of each microphone. The LEDs on the microphones will switch to green to let you know you are in denoise mode. You can also use the larger button on the receiver to switch between mono and stereo mode. So if you are in stereo mode one microphone will record to the left channel only and the other one will record the right channel only.
So how do the microphone’s sound? Well here is a little sound test I did. Be sure to listen all the way through as I test both normal mode and denoise mode. I’ve also included a sound test from the Hollyland Lark C1 wireless microphone kit.
