In the world of mechanical keyboards we’ve seen many keyboards that have been extremely visually appealing, but they are quite horrendous to type on. Today we are taking a look at a keyboard we hopes change that narrative. It is the KiiBOOM Phantom 81 V2, which is a 75% mechanical keyboard that features not only a clear acrylic casing, but also see-through keycaps. That combined with the RGB lighting makes for one of the best-looking keyboards we’ve seen in a while. Under the hood is a gasket-mount design with an polycarbonate plate, plate-mounted stabilizers, KiiBOOM’s own Crystal Switches which are pre-lubed, and of course a hot-swappable design. Let’s see what this keyboard is all about!
Special thanks to KiiBOOM for sending the Phantom 81 V2 over for us to take a look at.

KiiBOOM Phantom 81 V2 Packaging
The KiiBOOM Phantom 81 V2 comes in a pretty standard keyboard box that has an outline of the keyboard on the front. Moving around back there is not a ton of information, just a tech support e-mail and KiiBOOM’s website.
Getting everything out of the box we have the keyboard itself, a vert large cleaning cloth, black braided USB cable, keycap puller, switch puller, two extra switches, two extra screws, a small screwdriver for taking the keyboard apart, and a user’s guide.
