Setting Up The RT2600ac
Getting the RT2600ac setup and ready to go is very easy. First plug in your WAN connection, LAN connections (if any) and power on your router. The RT2600ac does take a little while to fully boot up and be ready to use. Connect to the router via WiFi or direct LAN connection. We are directly connected via LAN do all we have to do is open our browser and head over to router.synology.com.
From here you’ll be able to start the setup process. The first thing you’ll be prompted to do is create an administrator account.
From there you setup your WiFi network, this is for both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. Just set the SSID and the password.
Now go ahead and set your operation mode. For most people you’ll select Wireless Router, but you can select Wireless Access Point, or Wireless Repeater.
Internet Connection is next, for most people you’ll just have it set to Auto IP.
Once you hit apply the router will start configuring things, this should take 3-4 minutes and you’ll be on your way.
