HYTE THICC Q60 Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

There is so much to say about the HYTE THICC Q60. First let’s talk about the aesthetics and component design choices that HYTE implemented on this 240mm AIO. While this is still a 240mm liquid cooler, everything has had the THICC filter applied to it. From the 52mm thick radiator, to the 32mm thick fans, to the thick tubing, and the double pump design, everything on the Q60 with regards to performance has been beefed up. What essentially equates to a 480mm radiator in a mostly 240mm footprint equates to efficient and effective thermal performance, as the Q60 was nearly the best in both idle and load conditions. In order to accomplish that feat, HYTE has somewhat limited the number of systems that the Q60 is truly compatible with, but I think many builders will find that they can successfully install in a case not specifically noted by HYTE.

The 5″ LCD is the largest we have seen thus far on an AIO, and there is just so much you can do with the cell phone-sized screen to display exactly what you want. Throw in the 42 qLED array on the backside of the screen for some nice ambient glow, and the light up HYTE logo on the radiator, and you’ve got a great looking cooler on your hands. Now it is true, there is no LED lighting on the fans, and for some folks that will be a deal breaker. But knowing that you can easily add a few light strips to the Q60 via the Nexus Link Type-C connector at a whim makes adding RGB back into the equation that much simpler.

All of this THICCness does come at a price however. The HYTE THICC Q60 currently retails for $299.99 at our favorite online retailer. That price point may feel high at first, but when you think about it, it all adds up. The thick radiator (consider the cost of a 480mm AIO), the thick fans with their magnetic, cable-less design and integrated temperature sensor, dual pumps, 5″ LCD and multiple qRGB lighting zones, Nexus software support, and performance on-par with, or better than, many 360mm AIOs we have reviewed – it is all there to give you great looks and great performance, so long as your system can support its installation requirements.

The HYTE THICC Q60 earns a 10 out of 10 and the Editor’s Choice Award.
