Final Thoughts
We already were big fans of the SL660 Blaze from Lexar, but we can see why professional users might not have wanted that drive. The RGB lighting on the drive really gives it that gamer look, but that is not for everyone. So it only makes sense that Lexar would release the same drive under their Professional line. The big difference here is that they have removed the RGB lighting for a more sleek and streamlined look.
Besides removing the RGB lighting essentially we have the same drive here. So you are going to get solid speeds here thanks to the USB 3.2 gen 2×2 interface. We saw speeds of 2030.06 MB/s read and 1811/31 MB/s write in CrystalDiskMark. With these types of speeds this is going to be a great drive to use for transferring files, editing on, and of course to use as a gaming drive. On top of that the drive has aluminum construction which not only feels great in your hand, but will give you piece of mind when carrying the drive around.
Right now you can pick up the 2TB version of the drive for $196.87 at our favorite online retailer. This price makes it very competitive against drives from Samsung and SanDisk which are priced higher. If you are looking for a super-fast portable solid state drive the Lexar Professional SL600 is a great choice. Overall ThinkComputers gives it a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
