Sharge Disk M.2 2230 SSD Enclosure Review

Sharge Disk Sharge Disk

Final Thoughts

As I said in the beginning of this review Sharge really caught my attention with products that were thoughtfully designed and can be used everyday and the Sharge Disk is just that! M.2 solid state drive enclosures are nothing new, but most of them are designed for the larger M.2 2280 drives. With the Sharge Disk being designed for M.2 2230 drives only, it allows it to be extremely small. This not only makes the drive easy to take with you places, but also allows you to directly plug it into devices. The drive is compatible with things like a Steam Deck, Rog Ally, iPhone, iPad, and of course your PC and Mac.

The drive also comes with a USB-C cable so you can easily plug it in like any other external drive. The included USB cable actually connects to the case for the Sharge Disk and acts as a lanyard, so you’ll always have the cable with you as well. This included case is IP56 rated.

Since this is a enclosure instead of an external SSD you get to pick the drive you want to install. This gives you a bit more flexibility and of course the drive you buy can be used for other applications as well. Sharge has made installation of your drive extremely easy as well, the entire process is tool-less and shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes.

The enclosure does have a small fan on it which will keep your drive nice and cool, but it is audible. It is not loud by any means, but can be heard.

Right now you can pick up the Sharge Disk at our favorite online retailer for $49.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Sharge Disk M.2 2230 SSD Enclosure a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
