Sharge Disk Overview
As I said the Sharge Disk is one of the smallest M.2 SSD enclosure’s that I’ve seen, the official dimensions are 43 mm x 12.9mm x 29mm (LxWxH). The reason why this enclosure is able to be so small compared to others is that it is exclusively made for M.2 2230 (30mm) drives, while most can accommodate M.2 2280 drives.
The front of the drive has a window that will allow you to see your installed M.2 SSD and there is a small Sharge Disk logo.
Flipping around back there is the tiniest fan! This of course is going to keep your installed M.2 SSD cool when your are using the enclosure.
On each side of the drive are ventilation holes to aid in cooling. On one of the sides there is a lock button, which will put your drive into read-only mode.
The drive makes use of a Type-C connector and as I mentioned is a USB 3.2 gen 2 enclosure with a max speed of 1000 MB/s.
The drive is completely tool-less and you can easily remove the top, which is held into place by magnets. It is worth noting that enclosure is made of metal. Inside we find the M.2 2230 connector and that is basically it!
