Final Thoughts

Now I’ve been using the Standing Desk S450 for a couple of weeks now and I’ve really enjoyed it. For one I really love how the desk looks in the office. I really wanted something different than the white or bamboo desks I’ve had in the past and the wood desktop just looks awesome! If you match this desktop with the black frame you will get that dark look, which might totally fit the aesthetic you are going for. The desktop is quite sturdy and does not feel cheap at all. Having the pre-drilled holes with grommets installed is nice, but I would have liked to have seen an option to get the desktop without these holes.

Getting this desk put together was quiet easy. I’ve built a few of these desks before so I knew what I was doing, but even if it is your first time the directions are easy to follow. The controller on the desk makes it easy to move it up or down and there are three pre-sets where you can say have a height for sitting, one for standing, and maybe one for using something like a bar stool. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the controller making a beep each time I pressed it to go up or down. The big question everyone probably wants to know is if there is any wobble in the desk. When you have it fully extended at its highest setting there is a wobble, but I haven’t experienced a desk where that is not the case. Overall the desk is quite sturdy. Another thing that is great about this desk is the protection alerts so if something gets in the way of the desk going up or down it won’t keep on trying to move it will stop and let you know something is in the way.

One of the best things about having a sit-stand desk is that one you are not sitting all day. There are endless studies that show how sitting all day is horrible for you. So for me I typically start my day standing and then towards the end of the day I end up sitting. Having a motorized desk like this also makes the process of going from sitting to standing as easy a pretty a single button on the controller.

As I mentioned the price of the desk that we have configured is $599 with prices starting at $449. Compared to other similarly configured desks the FlexiSpot E7 is $554.99 while the Autonomoous Smart Desk Pro is $649. So I would say the pricing for this desk is in-line with the rest of the market. Odinlake also backs this desk with a 15 year warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the OdinLake Standing Desk S450 a 9 out of 10 score.
