Over the past few weeks we’ve taken a look at a handful of newer flash drives, from encrypted drives, to very fast drives. It seems you really are getting a lot of speed and value out of these drives and today’s drive is no exception. We are going to be taking a look at the Kingston DataTraveler Max, which is a USB 3.2 gen 2 flash drive that boasts speeds of up to 1000 MB/s! This would make it the fastest flash drive that we’ve ever reviewed and a definite win for those looking for speed and portability. Let’s take a look and see what these drives are all about!
Special thanks to Kingston for providing us with the DataTraveler Max USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drives to review.
Specifications
Packaging
For those we do not know Kingston actually has two versions of this drive, a USB-A version and a USB-C version. Kingston sent us over both, so on the front of the retail boxes we have a picture of the drives and it lists the speeds as well as the capacity. These drives are available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities. Flipping these over to the back there is a list of compatibility with different operating systems.
Opening the boxes up all you’ll find is the drives in a clamshell-style packaging.
